Video Game Repair/Galaga Plays Upside Down

Up until recently I had no problems with my full size Galaga Coin Op game. I rolled it across my rec room to a different location and now it goes through all the normal start up and displays the graphics correctly, but after a short time the screen flips upside down. I still operates and shoots, but now with everything upside down the ships are shooting out of the back of them. When I run the self test it doesnt show any errors, but the screen is erratic and randomly flips between right side up and upside down rapidly. I am at a loss.
Thank you,

Terry, this is likely an issue with the ribbon cable that connects the two boards. Open the back of the game and look at the connector between the two boards.  Gently remove the cable and then reconnect it. these cables are notoriously flaky. Hopefully this takes care of the problem. If it doesn't, let me know and we can troubleshoot further.

I can answer questions regarding coin-operated arcade game questions down to the logic board. Error codes, erratic operation, dead boards, I can help with them all. I can help with video monitors on a very limited and basic level only.

I have spent nearly 20 years as an avid arcade collector, and spent nearly 10 of those years as the lead tech for a large arcade operator, doing work for manufacturers and other coin-operated amusement companies around the globe. I maintain a good sized collection of arcade games, as well as a large inventory of spare parts for a wide range of arcade machines.
