Video Game Repair/PacMan standup arcade machine

Hi, Brian

I have a standup version of the Pacman arcade game. Bought it in 1982. Hasn't been used in years. When I powered it on today, the screen is filled with FF FF etc.

I could send you a pic if that helps.

Is there some sort of reset button I could press?

Thanks, Joe

Wow, you bought it in 1982? I'll bet it is in fantastic condition! Lucky :-)

As for the screen full of FF's- the easiest way to work this out is to, with the power off, wiggle the aux boards back and forth until you feel the legs in the sockets move. The boards will likely be held in with zip ties, so you might need to cut those off. Do the wiggling gently- you don't want to bend the legs!

Turn the game back on and hopefully you'll be up and running!

I can answer questions regarding coin-operated arcade game questions down to the logic board. Error codes, erratic operation, dead boards, I can help with them all. I can help with video monitors on a very limited and basic level only.

I have spent nearly 20 years as an avid arcade collector, and spent nearly 10 of those years as the lead tech for a large arcade operator, doing work for manufacturers and other coin-operated amusement companies around the globe. I maintain a good sized collection of arcade games, as well as a large inventory of spare parts for a wide range of arcade machines.
