Question
Hi there, I recently purchased a working Stargate at an online auction. Some friends picked it up and brought it to their office. They tried and it worked fine. This morning it was shipped to me now has no video. Game comes on and will accept a quarter. Pressing one player starts the game and I can use all the controls and hear sound but the screen remains blank. Any ideas????
Thank you

Answer
It's possible that one of a couple of things have happened. Check each below:

1) The monitor has come unplugged. There is a 2-pin plug that provides power to the monitor. Make sure that it is plugged in.

2) There are fuses at the bottom of the cabinet that are on the same line as the monitor. Make sure all fuses are good (with the game unplugged from the wall!)

3) The video connector to the monitor has come off. This is actually common when moving a game. Look for any loose connections and reconnect them.

Let me know if any of these work!

Thanks,
Brian

Expertise

I can answer questions regarding coin-operated arcade game questions down to the logic board. Error codes, erratic operation, dead boards, I can help with them all. I can help with video monitors on a very limited and basic level only.

Experience

I have spent nearly 20 years as an avid arcade collector, and spent nearly 10 of those years as the lead tech for a large arcade operator, doing work for manufacturers and other coin-operated amusement companies around the globe. I maintain a good sized collection of arcade games, as well as a large inventory of spare parts for a wide range of arcade machines.
