Video Game Repair/golden tee 2009 boot up hanging

Little background first -My golden tee crt monitor died in the cabinet. My plan is to remove the crt and use the hdmi output for am hd monitor. I unplugged the vga conversion cord going to the old tube and plugged in an hdmi monitor via hdmi out on the computer. When I boot the golden tee now I see the boot menu come up on the new monitor clearly and it goes through its checklist and says all "ok" until it gets to one that says "setting clock" and will not boot game it just hangs there. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Hi Chris,

Is this a Golden Tee Live! unit? It's the one in the silver box. From your description, i'd imagine that it is.

Unfortunately, you can't swap video outputs on the computer- it's wired to run from the VGA card only. Once you get the system up and running on the default video output device, you may be able to switch, but you can't simply plug and play.

Hope this helps,

I can answer questions regarding coin-operated arcade game questions down to the logic board. Error codes, erratic operation, dead boards, I can help with them all. I can help with video monitors on a very limited and basic level only.

I have spent nearly 20 years as an avid arcade collector, and spent nearly 10 of those years as the lead tech for a large arcade operator, doing work for manufacturers and other coin-operated amusement companies around the globe. I maintain a good sized collection of arcade games, as well as a large inventory of spare parts for a wide range of arcade machines.
