Question
I have a 2012 goldentee home edition.  The game freezes up and reboots all the time. Used to do it once in awhile. No always. What do i need do do?

Answer
It's likely that your power supply is faulty. If you're handy with a voltmeter, check the +5V DC line and make sure that it's readying at least +5.2V at the power supply (so any voltage drop over the cables is acceptable)

It should be reading +5V at the board at the absolute bare minimum.

If it's reading low, there should be an adjustment on the power supply. Turn it slowly with the power off about 1/3 of an inch and power it back on.

If it doesn't have an adjustment knob, I would suggest purchasing a new power supply.

Are you hearing any clicking from the hard drive? It's possible that the hard drive is failing (if it indeed uses a hard drive)

Hope this helps!

Expertise

I can answer questions regarding coin-operated arcade game questions down to the logic board. Error codes, erratic operation, dead boards, I can help with them all. I can help with video monitors on a very limited and basic level only.

Experience

I have spent nearly 20 years as an avid arcade collector, and spent nearly 10 of those years as the lead tech for a large arcade operator, doing work for manufacturers and other coin-operated amusement companies around the globe. I maintain a good sized collection of arcade games, as well as a large inventory of spare parts for a wide range of arcade machines.
