Video Game Repair/Coin mechinism

I have a centipede arcade game  and the coins does not drop down correctly and jams up from coin dropping down wrong side. We have ordered two replacement parts and it still does not work?
Any advise would be appreciated.

Hi Steve,

First, you need to identify which kind of coin mech you've got- it should have a sticker on it somewhere saying what size of coin it takes, from .88 to .975 and everywhere inbetween. There are also quarter acceptors, dime and nickle ones, etc...

What kind do you have and what coin are you putting into it? It sounds like you've got a mismatch somewhere!

I can answer questions regarding coin-operated arcade game questions down to the logic board. Error codes, erratic operation, dead boards, I can help with them all. I can help with video monitors on a very limited and basic level only.

I have spent nearly 20 years as an avid arcade collector, and spent nearly 10 of those years as the lead tech for a large arcade operator, doing work for manufacturers and other coin-operated amusement companies around the globe. I maintain a good sized collection of arcade games, as well as a large inventory of spare parts for a wide range of arcade machines.
