Video Game Repair/nba showtime, blitz

My combo game NBA showtime Blitz starts up but then shuts off either during game or right before then turns back on I never worked on one so don't want to mess it up even more?

Hi David,

It sounds like you have some power supply issues. Luckily, this may be easily fixed. With the game off, open the back of the cabinet and find the power supply. It will likely be a VHS tape sized box with an LED on it and a bunch of cables coming from it. Look for a knob and turn it about 1/3 of a turn in the direction of the arrow that is likely on it. If there is no arrow, turn it clockwise.

Turn the game back on and see if this takes care of the problem. It likely will!

Hope this helps,

I can answer questions regarding coin-operated arcade game questions down to the logic board. Error codes, erratic operation, dead boards, I can help with them all. I can help with video monitors on a very limited and basic level only.

I have spent nearly 20 years as an avid arcade collector, and spent nearly 10 of those years as the lead tech for a large arcade operator, doing work for manufacturers and other coin-operated amusement companies around the globe. I maintain a good sized collection of arcade games, as well as a large inventory of spare parts for a wide range of arcade machines.
