Subject: PS2 play PS1 games but not PS2

Question
Hi Brian,

I just picked up a 2nd hand PS2. Initally, it wouldn't read anything. After cleaning the lense, in now reads PS1 and CDs but not PS2 games or DVDs. The DVD I tried didn't have a scrach on it though the PS2 games were a little rough.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Answer
This is a pretty common problem with PS2 machines, and usually the larger ones (not the slim ones). This website will walk you through each step to correct the problem, which luckily is nothing major.

Best of luck!
Brian
