Question My cousin just got a PSP and in order to play his game i needed to update it to 2.82 but during the updating the console said the disc wasnt inserted. And it kept malfunctioning. I then had to take out the game but then it froze. I took out the battery and put it back in but then when I turned it on the screen stayed black. What should I do? respond please ASAP
Answer Hi,
I'm sorry but it's pretty certain that the PSP is now "bricked" which means the firmware is either absent or corrupted. Unfortunately the only way a repair shop like mine could fix it would be to install a new motherboard and they're going for about $100 right now. Sony offers an out-of-warranty exchange deal though for about $90 so you might want to give them a call and see if they can help. Thanks, Lynn
