Question sorry i wasnt sure if you were firmilar with the xbox 360, but mabey my promblem you migth be able to solve.
while playing my xbox 360 the screen just went black, there was no lagging or anything that could explain it, it just went black. I sat there for a few moments thinking that it might come back, then the screen started making weird colors like red with lines throught it and other colors. I immediatly turned off the xbox and check the audio and vidoe cords, they were fine. after checking the game for scratches and seeing a few, i tried a more newer game with less surface sracthing. apon turning on the xbox i could hear it loading and hear the sounds the game makes when loading, but now there is no picture only black. I took everything out and set it up from sratch. hooking up the audio and video and power just like the instrutions told me. but still no luck, only the dreaded black screen. do you think something fried? or could my video input of somehow burn out? any ideas will help cuz my 1 year warrenty is up and i dont have reciet =(.
thank you.
Answer Hi,
I can't say for sure what may have happened but the first thing to do is borrow a friend's A/V cable to see if that fixes the problem. You can also try hooking it up to a different TV to rule out a problem on that end and try it out with the hard drive disconnected for the same reason. If all this fails to solve the problem my next guess would be that the graphics chip is fried and it'd have to be sent off for professional repair. I hope this info helps and I'll cross my fingers for you in hopes of a simple (cheap) solution. Thanks, Lynn Brown
