AboutTrey McGowan Expertise I can answer strategy questions for just about any video games. RPGs and collecting/raising sims are my major specialty, though I am also experienced in general strategy games, a variety of MMORPGs, and possibly even some much more esoteric ones. I can't promise that I'll be able to answer all your questions from personal experience, but I can promise that if I can't, I will do my utmost to research the answer before I give it to you.
Best consoles to ask about: NES, SNES, GB/GBC, GBA, Playstation, Playstation II. If you are asking outside of this list, please give a little extra time for some research to be done on the game.
Please note: if you are wanting a particular version of strategy (i.e. a *fast* playthrough, a powerful playthrough, a challenge game, a specific boss beat in a specific way), make sure the details are added. The more I know about what *you* want to know, the better.
Experience I am an avid player of video games of various types, including RPGs, strategy games, MMORPGs, et cetera. I have been playing since the Atari 1300 days, and even back then, learning the strategy and the like of the games was as interesting as beating it.

Question Hi, was wondering if you could help me, i cannot work out how to defeat the Optional Boss' Phantom and Kurt Zisa in kingdom Hearts 1 ps2. Answer Hi there, Staci!
This is a number of questions in one, but I will see if I can give at least brief breakdowns of them. If you need more detailed info on a specific boss, feel free to ask about them!
I answered the question about Kurt Zisa at one point. And unfortunately, my answer was basically 'He's Just Plain Mean'. The best way I can get you a technique on beating him is to link you to a walkthrough that is specifically for that. Yes, he's evil enough he has his own walkthrough: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/516587/19557
The basics of it are that he has three phases. In his first, you will need to attack the orbs that are on the end of flailing arms. These are the only things you can really damage on him like this. The second, he collapses to the sand, defenseless. Open up on him at this time and go for the head; this is the time when he can be defeated utterly. You will probably need to get him into this stage multiple times. The third is when he will be protected by a shield and floating. Use all your magic here, as it's the only thing that will affect the shield.
Phantom has a nice walkthrough as well, for how to beat him: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/516587/19904
Again, the basics: he has an instant 'kill' effect that needs to be removed, or you will lose party members for *good* (or until the end of the battle), and potentially even Sora the same way. To damage him, wait for a glowing sphere to appear in, er, his lower-center area, and go for that. It's a dirty attack, maybe, but the only way to hurt him! Anyhow, the walkthrough should give you all the info you need, so go for it!
As for the paths to those locations, you basically need to re-open, if you are where I think you are (I may be wrong, but it seems the most likely). Head back to the first district and talk to Cid. He should give you the clue(s) you need to re-open that path. I'm not going to go into detail, just in case you want to avoid spoilers on it, but if the conversation doesn't help (or I'm wrong about where you are), then feel free to write back and I'll give you further info!
Here's hoping my information helped you out! Good luck!
