About Trey McGowan Expertise I can answer strategy questions for just about any video games. RPGs and collecting/raising sims are my major specialty, though I am also experienced in general strategy games, a variety of MMORPGs, and possibly even some much more esoteric ones. I can't promise that I'll be able to answer all your questions from personal experience, but I can promise that if I can't, I will do my utmost to research the answer before I give it to you.
Best consoles to ask about: NES, SNES, GB/GBC, GBA, Playstation, Playstation II. If you are asking outside of this list, please give a little extra time for some research to be done on the game.
Please note: if you are wanting a particular version of strategy (i.e. a *fast* playthrough, a powerful playthrough, a challenge game, a specific boss beat in a specific way), make sure the details are added. The more I know about what *you* want to know, the better.
Experience I am an avid player of video games of various types, including RPGs, strategy games, MMORPGs, et cetera. I have been playing since the Atari 1300 days, and even back then, learning the strategy and the like of the games was as interesting as beating it.

Question I seem to have gotten myself stuck in a point of no return, and I was hoping you could help me out.
I have already grabbed 8/9 life pedestals and I am past the wraith mask segment, right before the final boss. I went looking for the last pedestal but I went too far.
I'm now at the area where you first rescue Kaileena, and I've tried everything, even going to the present, but I can't find a way out.
Do I have to start over completely or is there a way out that I'm missing?
Answer Hi there, Haku!
Please pardon my delay on answering this question, but as I have never played the game before, it was a matter of trying to research this area. And unfortunately, finding the information was rather elusive since it wasn't something that could be so easily answered without the experience.
I'm not completely certain whether this will help you out, but from what I have been able to find, the way to backtrack and get to the Life Upgrade #9 (and the artwork #40) is to head for the Sacrificial Altar and climb the highest balcony you can get to, on the highest floor, when you reach the first room of the area.

This walkthrough has a very detailed look for how to get to the area that you're looking for. Search for 'Optional Objective 3' in the FAQ and you'll get both a short description and a long one.
As for getting back there once you have already been there, I can find nothing mentioning a 'point of no return'. However, unfortunately none of the information I can find talks about backtracking to the area to give a path, so I can only hope that the offer of the FAQ might help open up the answer of what was missed.
I'm sorry I couldn't give a more specific answer than this one, and hope that what I *did* give was enough. Obviously, follow-ups, comments, questions, et cetera are quite welcome!
