Question my friend went to brazil and bought bootleg games they all worked there but he brought them home and they dont seem to work on our ps2 just curious if there is anything diferent
Answer Hello Andy, this is TJ. Answering your question.
Yes, games from foreign countries like Brazil, Italy, France, Mexico, etc...All the games are different simply cause they are PAL...Here in the U.S our games and console are NTSC/UC
So if you get NTSC game to play it on PAL PS2 it won't work, and if you get PAL game to work on NTSC PS2 guess what, it will not work either, make sense?
One way you can make your ps2 actually read PAL and NTSC is to get a MOD chip for your ps2.
Simply Visit http://modchip.com/ for more info on the mod chip.
Note that the problem your having is found every where, it's not only the PS2 that is pal or ntsc, it's also the DVD, VCR, PC games, Gamecube, and xbox games.
For you to play any PAL game on your NTSC console you will need that mod chip, there are no other way.
Hope these info has been helpful :)
