Question Hi Richard, I bought a Waltham car clock in wooden case which is mounted in the back of a vintage car it has a place for a notebook and/mirror? On the back of case it has LINDEN stamped , what does this mean? (I also have a Graham 1933 model 58)seeing you are into Graham's. Thank you.
Answer I'm sorry, but I haven't the foggiest idea what LINDEN stamped into the back case of a Waltham car clock would mean, unless perhaps it might mean that the clock was manufactured in LINDEN, NJ.
Perhaps someone with knowledge of antique clocks might be better equipped to answer your question.
Yes, I am a bit into Grahams - my first choice has always been Hupmobile Skylarks (I own three!) or Graham Hollywoods. However, my second choice, had I not found a Skylark or Hollywood was to try and acquire a 32-34 Graham with "Blue Streak Styling". I came very close to acquiring a 1934 1st Series Model 68 sedan several years back, but the logistics and the price were a little beyond my means at the time.
I live on the east coast and the car was on the west coast.
I got a real treat last summer while I was attending the Graham meet in New Hampshire - a Connecticut couple had just discovered and acquired a running, unmolested original 1933 1st Series Model 58 with about 25,000 miles on the odometer, and were touring it for the first time. Those cars are more beautiful in person than they are in photos!
