Not sure what you mean by hesitation, but don't overlook the catalyic converter. When those babies plug up the engine can't breathe, causing hesitation and power loss upon accellerator applicatoin. Only way I know to check is drop the exhaust forward of the converter then run the (very loud) engine through a couple of accelleration cycles.
