Question QUESTION: We recently came into possession of an antique violin. As the person who
gave it to us, an old man gave it to daddy who, if he were alive, would be over
a 100 now. We can find no marks from a maker on the violin, but it is unique
in that the top of it where you would normally find scrolled wood, there is
what appears to be the carved head of a native american. The bow that came
with it has Peccate stamped into the wood. We were able to look that up and
found that it has some distinction in the world of bows. Anyway, we were
wondering if anyone knew anything about the violin OR where we could take
it to have someone tell us about it. I could email pictures of it if that would
help.
