About Al Dzina
Expertise
I can answer questions about violin and guitar making and restoration. I will not answer questions about playing these instruments, because I am a maker, not a player.

Experience
I was trained in violin making in Germany and have been working at this craft for sixty years.

Question
Dear Sir, My Mother just gave me our grandfathers Violin and case. inside the  violin is a white label with small black border. On it it says" Gio, Bap. Lucca anno 1800 carlo bergonzi fecit in Cremona" Can you tell me a little about this violin and case and  where  would I have it restored. The case has beautiful mahagony with inlaid wood with Velvet and brass handles and latches  all working

Answer
Hi Richard;
I'm very sorry but I am unable to tell you anything about your Gio. Bap. Lucca violin. I have one listing on a Lucca, Antonio that worked from 1905-1923 in Verona, Italy. Your instrument is a copy of some sort. Send me your City & State and I shall attempt to send you to a shop that can help.
Al;
