About Al Dzina
Expertise
I can answer questions about violin and guitar making and restoration. I will not answer questions about playing these instruments, because I am a maker, not a player.

Experience
I was trained in violin making in Germany and have been working at this craft for sixty years.

Question
I have a violin that dates back to 1801. Inside is a peice of paper that says it was made by H. F. McGovney, NewPort Kentucky 1801. I live in Austin, Texas. Is there someone I can take this to around here who can tell me about it's value?

Thank you for your help.

Answer
Hi Erin;
I have no liting of a McGovney as a violin maker. Try one of the following shops: BLACKERBY VIOLINS LTD.   1111 W. ANDERSON LN.   AUSTIN   TX   78757   (512)469-9343   info@violinshop.com
