About Al Dzina
Expertise
I can answer questions about violin and guitar making and restoration. I will not answer questions about playing these instruments, because I am a maker, not a player.

Experience
I was trained in violin making in Germany and have been working at this craft for sixty years.

Violin - Enders violin

Expert: Al Dzina - 10/15/2009

Question
I recently found my mother's violin and its original case.  Inside it reads "F. and R. Enders" then a mark with F&R over an E. Under that "Specialists in Artistic Violin Making"  Under that appears to be signatures then "Anno" followed by the written date 1928.  Under that is a small label " Made in Germany"  Any help appreciated.  Also, information on a Nashville appraiser would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Jt;
There is no date for Born or Died. He worked from 1900-1950 in Markneukirchen, Germany. The instruments are factory made units and a auction price of $3,050 was found. Try going to one of the following shops:
NASHVILLE VIOLINS   2810 BRANSFORD AVE.   NASHVILLE   TN   37204   (615)292-5196   info@nashvilleviolins.com
WILLIAMS FINE VIOLINS   1103 16th AVE. S.   NASHVILLE   TN   37212   (615)429-2927   dustin@WilliamsFineViolins.com
