Question
My dad left us his violin that he was given in the early 1900's. It has the name Antonio Loveri inside, and says "made in Germany".
How should I store and protect it in the humid climate here in Charleston, SC? Is it ok to use?   Are there appraisers in this area?

Answer

Expertise

I can answer questions about violin and guitar making and restoration. I will not answer questions about playing these instruments, because I am a maker, not a player.

Experience

I was trained in violin making in Germany and have been working at this craft for sixty years.
