Question
Hi, I am 18 yrs old and i just bought a violin. I dont play any other instruments. and I really know nothing about music; reading music notes, etc. But I really do want to learn the violin.I think violin is very elegant and passionate.Im just asking for any advice or tips.

Answer
The obvious best thing is to get a teacher. Although Suzuki classes are usually for youngsters, that would be a way to learn to read music without it impeding your playing training. I wouldn't advise self-teaching, though some people manage to do that--you could easily develope bad habits.
