About Al Dzina
Expertise
I can answer questions about violin and guitar making and restoration. I will not answer questions about playing these instruments, because I am a maker, not a player.

Experience
I was trained in violin making in Germany and have been working at this craft for sixty years.

Question
Al,
I live in Wichita, Kansas USA. I recently purchased a violin bow at a local estate sale. I am not able to find any reference to the maker. Can you help? It is marked "W. Herrmann" - "Germany" - "50". Are you familiar with this maker and do you know the approximate age of the bow?
Thanks, Ron

Answer
Hi Ron;
Walter Herrmann B. 1899 D.? Worked 1921-1951 in Schoenlind,
Germany. The # 50 should indicate the year the bow was made. Take your bow the dealer below for more info:
