Expert: Margaret Jiang Date: 8/19/2007 Subject: Wrist Verbrato
Question Hi, Margaret how would be the best way to teach yourself wrist verbrato, I can do finger, but have been told wrist is better. Thank You in advance for your response.
Answer Use the wrist to move the hand forwards and backwards and to power the first joint of the finger so that it pops up and lies flat on the fingerboard corresponding with the motion of the hand. (forwards, up - backwards, flat) Keep in mind that it's vibrato - meaning it vibrates, so the movement should be small to really small, depending on the speed. Make sure the first joint and finger is as parllel as possible to the strings to make vibrato easier.
