I Personally Own and play a Rothenburg Violin that i bought on Ebay for Cheap $$ and it stands up to a  Antonius Stradivarius violin with a good set of "Thomastik Dominant" 4/4 Violin Strings. i took mine to a man that builds violins that is in his late 70's and he has played stringed instruments for years.. he liked the way mine sounded for the $$ i paid. i had him re adjust the sound post and he also worked over the bridge to be the proper height from the fingerboard after the new strings it is a Great Instrument. i paid $60 after the bidding and shipping price together! money well spent..

I ama professional musician and have been for 25 years.  I play guitar, bass, keyboards, and was experimenting with the violin and bought one of these.  I was completely impressed! with the quality and tonality, and so were my bluegrass friends who are seasoned players.

I bought one of these for 125.00...   from what I can find out this is either made at a factory/school or just simply of Chinese manufacture however that said when I got it,  it was in good condition and made a louder tone and prettier tone than the school rental that my daughter was playing,  I does indeed have maple back and sides and a spruce top with very good coloring,  the bridge was upright and placed correctly,  it tuned fine.  at my daughters skill level it seems perfectly fine and bests the school provided violin for the local music shop.    I would also like to add that the tuning pegs and fine adjustments appear to match the school violin in quality.
