Violin/American made violin

I have a violin by this maker.  From all appearances it is a quality instrument. Interior work is expertly done with linings running across the wing blocks. The top is one piece with the saddle resting on the top plate. Fine scroll and beautifully set neck.  You can expect to find a branding on the interior back, a signature on the bassbar, an inscription on the interior top plate and an R within a square at the end block.  This is a maker that wanted you to know that he made the violin.

Hello,  Roy Reynolds was my great great grandfather.  He was a violin maker be trade.  We have not been able to find one of his violins.

I can answer questions about violin and guitar making and restoration. I will not answer questions about playing these instruments, because I am a maker, not a player.

I was trained in violin making in Germany and have been working at this craft for sixty years.
