About Al Dzina
Expertise
I can answer questions about violin and guitar making and restoration. I will not answer questions about playing these instruments, because I am a maker, not a player.

Experience
I was trained in violin making in Germany and have been working at this craft for sixty years.

Question
I am helping an elderly lady with her estate and she has an old violin which belonged to her husband.  Could you explain what the markings on it mean or refer to:

"Faciebat Cremona 1713"
"Antonius Stradivarius"
"Kronotone" "made in Western Germany"
Aubert a Mirecourt is printed on the bridge

This instrument must be at least 60+ years old and is in immaculate condition.

thanks for any info on it maker, manufacturer, etc

Answer
Hi Curt;
I will explain below:
Faciebat Cremona 1713" (Fabricated in Cremona, Italy a copy of an Antonius Stradivarius model of 1713.)
"Antonius Stradivarius"

"Kronotone" "made in Western Germany" (Model name Kronotone
made in Western Germany.)

Aubert a Mirecourt is printed on the bridge (Aubert is a French bridge maker in Mirecourt, France,)

I hope this makes some kind of sense.
Al;
