Question We're moving to Hampton in Feb, but do not know the area yet. Well, My husband's birthday is the 5th of July. I'm planning on flying out his best friend & his family from the west coast. I'd like to get us all a small beach house nearby. Maybe Virginia Beach? Willing to travel 5 or 6 hours from Hampton if need be. Just something small yet luxurious, with nearby stuff for the kids, water park or something?! And of course, somewhere that will have a good 4th of July fireworks display. Any help would be appreciated!

Aren't you lucky to be moving here. Your family will really enjoy the area! As for rentals, beach houses are available in Virginia Beach in the Sandbridge area. This is right on the ocean, the houses can hold several families with every amenity. Depending on cost, some are right on the beach or a block or two away. Most have 5/6 bedrooms/bathrooms, hot tubs and numerous luxury electronic items. Sandbridge is a beautiful area only 10 minutes from all the action on the boardwalk, water park,boating, surfing aquariums etc. The children and adults will never be bored. It is approximately a 45 min/one hour drive from Hampton. It would depend which area of Hampton you are moving too, and also what the traffic is on that day.
