Have a sever oil leak looks like it is between engine and the transmission. Is this the main seal, are the seals rubber and how to replace

Answer
Hi Rick,

If, after you clean in between the engine and transmission and confirm that it is oil leaking, the culprit is the rear engine seal.

Next, you will need to remove the engine, clutch assembly, and flywheel to access this seal.

Yes, it is made out of rubber with a little spring wrapped around it.

While you are on the website purchasing the part, you may want to pick up the service manual which tells you how to do this step by step.
