Question ron i have a 77 vw i bought 4 my son. looking it over i see it has a ac unit made by dbd. there is no compressor on the engine. and no line set could you tell me how to find parts? i would like to put this car back to original thanks
Answer Hi Kirk,
DPD no longer is in business, unfortunately. The compressor for your 1977 is called a 'Tecumseh Aspera Spa' made in Italy. It is a one-piston unit and kind of inefficient.
However, if you want to track one down try the following:
