Question My son and I pulled the engine and transaxle of our 79 cabrio. However, I forgot to tell my son to mark the engine wiring in our fuel infected beast. Alas I need help in getting the engine wired correctly. I been having a hard time finding a 79 wiring diagram with fuel infection. Thoughts?

Fuel infection..lol
You shouldn't have any problems with the wiring. Here it is in a nut shell:
From the drivers side rear of the motor:
1) The blue plugs go into the injectors. (does not matter which order, as they both fire at the same time)
2) The sensor on the cylinder head plugs into a little plastic sleeve which should be dangling in that area. There is also a silver square box with ceramic cylinders in them, (about 4" X 2"). This is the resistor block for the injectors, plug them in. There is only one plug that fits these.
3) There is a brown plug which plugs into the thermo time switch located by the large drive pulley.
4) The black plug goes into the throttle valve switch, the one between the belt which points out at you like a gun.
5) There is a stray white wire which slides on to the negative (-) of the coil, this controls the pulse for the injectors.
6) There is another blue plug (sometimes green) that goes into the cold start injector. This is located just to the left of the alternator and has a fuel line coming into the left side of it and exiting the right. The plug goes on top.
7) Next you have a larger black plug that goes into the front of the intake air sensor. (it kind of looks like a waffle iron).
8) On the right side of the engine, there are two more blue plugs which go into the injectors.
9) Next there should be a grouping of ground wires in the same general vicinity. (they are usually "O" shaped ends). These wires screw directly on top of the alternator and ground the injection system.
10) Finally, there is a plug that goes on top of the EGR valve (it's blue or brown). This is the thing that is just above the distributor cap and looks like a space-ship.
It really has nothing to do with the fuel injection system, but the plug looks like it it part of it. And last but not least, is the throttle position sensor plug. This is located just behind the cold start valve on the throttle body and again, has a unique plug that goes into it, as it only is designed to plug into this one thing.
