Question
QUESTION: Is $5500 a good price for a 1979 Conv bug? Thanks,Leah

ANSWER: Hi Leah,

As a rule, yes it is.

As long as there is not heavy rust underneath the vehicle, and everything seems to be in running order.

QUESTION: I did buy a 79 conv bug and I need to know where the seat belts are located in the front seats. Thanks, Leah
ANSWER: Leah,

The seat belts in the front should be bolted in to the side just behind your shoulder.   The part that it clicks into should be bolted in to the middle tunnel in between the two front seats.

If you don't see any rear seat belts they are most likely under the seat cushion.  Simply remove the rear seat cushion (it lifts out) and you should see them laying there.

Take Care,

Ron

QUESTION: Hey Ron, I am so sorry, but I'm not sure where the strap needs to be bolted. It is a 1979 conv. Where can I go to see a picture? The belts are there, they are bolted above the rear window cranks but not the other end. The part that it clicks into is where it should be. Thanks again so much! Leah
ANSWER: Hi Leah,

The other end should bolt in just behind the front seat to the side of the car just above the floor.

Sorry, my bad.  I left that part out!

Take Care,

Ron

QUESTION: Ron, Thanks for all your help. On the dash of a 79 conv bug you have the lighter a small something a round knob another small something and another round knob that I know is to turn the vents on to blow air. I don't know what the other 3 are for. Thanks again, Leah

Answer
Leah,

If I remember correctly, the two larger knobs (with the arrows in a circular form) work the fresh air.

One on the left directs air through the front two vents.  The other one directs air to the windshield.

The small round knob should be for a fan that blows air out electrically.  (only cool air)  It can be directed towards you or the windshield with the knobs.

I'm not sure of a third one, unless you mean the little spot light that is designed to illuminate the heater switches by the emergency brake.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Ron
