Question I have a 2001 VW Passat, of the older body style. While checking my oil, the dipstick funnel snapped off just above where it connects. I see that I can get these online for 5 bucks or so. Is there any trick in installing one myself or should I take it into the shop? Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.
Answer First, make sure you get the right one as there are three versions of this part depending on engine. The new one snaps onto the metal part of the tube. The tricky part is getting the old broken pieces out from the end of the tube without sending them into the crankcase. Try plugging the hole with pipe cleaners while cleaning out the old bits.
