Subject: coil burned many times

Question
i´m from colombia have an vw bettle 96 fuel injection and i have replaced the ignition coil in several times, but it  gets burned again.
i want to know if it is related with the model of coil i have been using(vw golf 89-99,with control moudle)or with the spark plug wires .

Answer
Shammir,

The coil will burn out if you are using a Golf ignition coil, and not a beetle.   The control module on the Golf amplifies the signal, and is not designed to be used on a fuel injected beetle.

Here is where you can get a correct one, and I'm sure they will ship it to you:

All the best.
