Question WELL MY QUESTION IS : THAT MY WIFES JETTA JUST HAD SOME ROUTINE MAINT DONE AT 65,000 MILES AND EVER SINCE THE CAR STARTED TO PULSATE VERY VIGOURSLY, AND LOSS OF POWER AND REDLINEING ALMOST BY GOING UP THE SMALLEST OF HILLS!! IS THIS A CAT PROBLEM OR MAYBE A MISFIRE PROBLEM AND CHANGE OUT OF THE STARTER COILS ARE NEEDED???
Answer Hi Kevin;
Sounds like a misfire issue to me, but it could be the fuel delivery system just as much as the ignition system. If you know how just switch the coils a round, and see if this changes anything. They are a little fragile, so be careful when you pull them out. Make sure you pull straight up, and not at an angle, or they can break internally, and you won't know until they start to misfire worse. A fuel injection, and induction service should be performed so the system is clean, and replace the fuel filter as well. That way you can limit your choice to just the ignition system. Hope this helps, Kevin. Good luck.
