Question I have a 2000 Jetta VR6. Every morning when I drive it the EPC light and traction control light will come on and the power to the engine it cut. This will happen 2-5 times a day. Once the car gets warmed up it will be fine for the rest of the day. The next day the process starts all over. Any idea what the problem could be?? Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer Hi Ken;
First inclination is to recommend a "ECT." Engine coolant temperature sensor, and a clearing of the "ECM." (Engine control module.)
Start with that. If that fixes it you're done. If not then the ECM may need a "re-flash"...update of the programming...
Next, it may need a "Flow Meter." ie., "MAF"...mass air flow meter.
If none of that actually remedies the symptoms, then the ECM itself may need to be replaced....Has the car ever been in a flood? Hope this helps Ken. Good luck.
