Question
The red light on my 67 is on, but the oil is fine...what else should I look for.  I'm a novice and I have only had this car for a few months.

Answer
Daryl,
Is the red light the oil pressure light?  If so, do not start the engine until you find the cause of the problem (If the oil light is on, it indicates insufficient oil pressure...operating the vehicle in this condition will quickly destroy the engine).  You will have to determine if the sensor is faulty or if the oil pressure is actually too low for safe operation.  Try to find someone who can put a mechanical gauge on the engine to determine the actual oil pressure, and then cross check the pressure with the specifications on your engine which can be found in an Import Motor's manual of that year in your local library. DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE UNTIL YOU HAVE DONE THIS CHECK.  Good Luck.  Jerry
