Question 2002 VW Jetta GL - unable to shift into reverse gear on a manual transmission. Forward gears are fine and clutch appears to be in good condition. Is this a simple repair?
Answer Well the trans may be bad or the linkage. When you press down on the shifter to get it into reverse does it feel funny or just the same as ever? The linkage is first place I would look. Under your air box behind your battery are two linkage rods. Is one loose or broken off?
