Question
how do I reset the electronic immobilizer on my 2000 vw jetta vr6?

Answer
Hello Iam;
You need a VAGCOM hooked up to your laptop computer, and the proper code sequence to reset it, or you need a VAS 5052, or VAS 5051, or VAS 5051B, available only at the dealership.  Did you change the instrument cluster, or did the key just lose the program over time, lack of use, or dead battery?  It is not something you should be able to reset on your own.  There is a 4 digit code that is specific to every car, and only the factory, in Germany has that information.
