Question i have a 98 jetta GL i have no left side lights.... but my head light still works. so i don't have a tail light side marker or front turn signal. but when i step on the brakes the light works and when i turn on the turn signal it works... replaced bulbs still doesn't work
Answer Check for a bad, or broken ground wire for the left side of the car. It sounds like you still have power, but just not a complete pathway to ground. It doesn't even have to be a broken wire, it could just be a corroded connector. Pull the lights out again, and examine their elctrical connections, are any discolored from high heat?...ie., too much resistance. Use a test light to try and narrow down the region where the ground is no longer available for this lighting circuit. Happy hunting!
