Question I have a 2001 volkswagen jetta that the hood won't release when the handle is pulled. Is there a way to open the hood if the release handle won't release it?
Answer Yes, Mark, There is;
If you use a slender screwdriver, and a flashlight you should be able to see a sort of Crab Pincher that moves to the right as you look at it through the narrow opening afforded by the hood at this time. Experiment with it a little bit so you don't scratch something deeply, or lose the screwdriver...yikes...but ultimately you should be able to lever it far enough over to open the hood the rest of the way.
