I am a Division I women`s vollegball coach. I have been coaching at the college level for the past eleven years. I am also teaching and coaching at the high school level and I have been doing so for the past sixteen years. In my spare time I;ve coach 11-12 year old girls in the CYO. Subject: Offensive plays

Question
I was wondering besides slides and 31's what other offensive plays can our 17's team run?

Answer
Alex,

If your players are good enough and you have the passing they can run anything you can teach. Combination plays like tandems or crossing patterns......OPP runs a 1 or 2 and the MH runs a slide. Double quicks....OPP runs a back 1 and the middle runs a 1.  Have the OH run a shoot.  If you have players who hit out of the back row you can run trips right or left....have all three front row players run a play in front of the setter and set a "D" set.  Or have the three front row hitters run a 3 1 5 and set an "A".

Good luck,
Steve
