Volleyball/"Pass 2" or "Pass 3" offense

I believe this could also refer to passing accuracy.  Instead of saying "good pass" or "we need to pass" he could have been saying exactly how accurate the passes should be to the setter.

The number is the number of setting options your setter has because of your pass.

0 means your setter can not set any of the front row hitters

1 means your setter can only set high outside

2 means your setter can set high outside or back, no middle

3 means all 3 hitters can be set including the quick in the middle

In other words, "make your passes accurate enough that the setter can get to every one of them.  No hard shanks."
