The Picture!
The picture that you see is my team after winning the 52-team Capitol Hill Classic in February 2008 in Washington DC. We were the only undefeated team in the 15's division. However, they presented our awards to the team that won the SILVER division! haha So the tournament directors had to reorder our medals and our player's MVP trophy, then mail them all to us later!

Question
Hello!
I want to ask you if you know any voleyball groups for children, of any girl teams where i can involve my  daughter (she is 11 y.o).
Thanks in advance
Vika

Answer
Good morning Vika:

Thank you for visiting www.allexperts.com.

Finding youth soccer & basketball is pretty easy.  But finding volleyball for an 11 year old is tougher.

First, have you contacted all the local recreation centers, the community centers and the YMCA's to see if they offer any clinics, camps, teams for 11 year olds.

Second, there is good news.......in the next year or two, your daughter will be able to find travel teams to play on!  One travel organization is the United States Volleyball Association.  They're the same people who select the Olympic teams!!  There are little clubs all across the country, in nearly every town and city.  Almost all programs have u14's, many have u13's and u12's.  How do you find them?  Go here:  http://www.geva.org

Third, another type of travel sports is AAU. I think everyone's heard of it.  There's not much AAU vball here in Virginia.  It's mostly USAV ball, that I mentioned in the previous paragraph.  But there may be more in your area of NY.  I just found this info for you:
RA Vernon
PO Box 1242, Ossining, NY 10562
914.613.3346
AAUVolleyball@NYMetropolitanAAU.com

I hope this helps some.  When you have a moment, please visit me at www.coachhouser.com  I think you'll enjoy the smiling faces!
