The Picture!
The picture that you see is my team after winning the 52-team Capitol Hill Classic in February 2008 in Washington DC. We were the only undefeated team in the 15's division. However, they presented our awards to the team that won the SILVER division! haha So the tournament directors had to reorder our medals and our player's MVP trophy, then mail them all to us later!

Question
what is rotational error? what is positional error? what is improper request? please assist.

Answer
Good morning!
Thank you for visiting allexperts.com

ROTATIONAL ERROR
This is the USAV's phrase for what I've always called "serving out of order".  So, of course, a rotational error occurs when the wrong girl is serving.  If you wish, I can tell you what happens if the error is caught immediately, or if the error is caught after 6 points are served, or if the error is caught a few minutes after the wrong server's serve is broken and the other team has served.

POSITIONAL ERROR
This is the USAV's phrase for what I've always called an "overlap".  A team is guilty of a rotational error when, at the moment of serve, the players aren't in their proper order, 1 through 6.  Does that help?  If not, please contact me and I'll be more specific.

IMPROPER REQUEST
This is a phrase that is used when the coach requests to do something that he/she cannot.  For example, I request putting Jill in for a MB.  YIKES, Jill already went into the game as an OH.  Improper request.  Another example is when I try to call a 3rd timeout.  Another example would be when I try to make a sub when I've already reached the maximum # allowed.

I hope that I've answered your questions, but if not, please contact me again.  Also, please visit me at www.coachhouser.com.  For the month of July, my drill collection and my ebooks are on sale!

Hope to hear from you again!
