About Steve Hagenlocher
Expertise
I am a Division I women`s vollegball coach. I have been coaching at the college level for the past eleven years. I am also teaching and coaching at the high school level and I have been doing so for the past sixteen years. In my spare time I;ve coach 11-12 year old girls in the CYO. I am also a certified high school referee for both varsity boys and girls. I have over 250 drills in my drill book and I believe I can be most helpful answering questions about running certain offenses and defenses.

Question
Steve,
I am a beginning coach for next year with girls high school jv and varsity volleyball.   I'd like to purchase a training program/video library, drills, etc.  to for use in a comprehensive program for developing next years teams.
Do you have any programs that you hold in highest regard?
Thanks,
Ben Parker

Answer
Ben,

There are many good videos out there, but they all depend on what you are looking for.  I haven't looked at all of my tapes in a while but here is what I remember.

I like the way Dave Shoji teaches on his video's
I liked everything I bought from Russ Rose on drills
I'm not a big fan of John Dunning stuff
I think Mary Wise is very smart and helpful
I also liked Sports Performance's 2 Setter tapes.

I have about 50 videos.  The one thing I learned is that you should buy 1 from a coach before you buy a set.  If you like the 1 buy the set.  If you don't like it stay away from that coach.  Also look for sales, and really read the blurb to see what you are getting.  Here is a place I have done business with in the past....  http://www.championshipproductions.com/.

Good luck.
Steve
