Question I have a 1995 volvo 960 3.0l automatic....problem occurs while idling at traffic lights or a junction, the engine revs start dropping off and feels like the car is about to stall, and sometimes engine cuts out...can sometimes rescue situation by revving engine...any advice gratefully accepted

Things like tune-up, MAF, Vacuun leaks are the most common. Do some testing read any fault codes fix those faults for starters.
The intake gaskets are the source of many vacuum leaks. Use a can of carb spray to spray over the manifold/gaskets to see if there are any leaks.
