Question After getting the transmission replaced and some work on steering wheel controls (reconnected cruise, radio etc), the car starts after trying 3 or 4 times. Also, power steering doesn't work when the gas paddle is not pushed ( when it is parked or not moving)

The antenna ring around the ignition switch might be the cause of a no start. Have the shop test the alarm system and ring. Check the P/S fluid level make sure it is full. I have also seen the crankshaft pulley fail causing the belt to slip. Have that also checked. You may consider a different shop for future work. Find a shop that has Volvo experience.
