Subject: "Bulb Failure Dipped Beam" message

Question
I just installed a HID xenon kit on two cars, a 528i BMW and a S80 Volvo, the BMW works fine and so does the Volvo except for the constant "Bulb Failure Dipped Beam" message that keeps apearing for half-seconds and reapearing in another couple of seconds. Everything else regarding the lights works fine. What can it be? Please advise

Answer
Marcel,
The bulb out sensor must be sensing a different power level for each bulb and tricking it to think there is a problem with a bulb. Sorry I have never replaced lights and had any of your problems. You may have to live with the message. I would say the sensor in that car was not intended for HID bulbs. How about a call to the bulb manufacturer for guidance.
