Question Just wondering if its a good idea to get an automatic starter installed in my 1995 volvo 960? my boyfriend thinks its a bad idea to mess with the electrical? what do you think?

A remote starting system is a great convenience. If you want one just be sure that the shop doing the installation is a good shop and the warranty is a good one. Now most times if you should ever have a problem in the starting system the shop working on the car will want to have the unit removed, so with the info you have make your choice. I have two Volvo's 940T / 760T both have the remote starter and I like them....
