Question
All of the sudden my car started running really rough.  I was at a light and started to go when I noticed it.  My car has lost 70% of it's power and is now rough when it idles as well.  I also started to notice a strange smell as I limped it 1 more mile back to work.  When the car is in park and I rev the engine it is rough as well.  There is no smoke that I have seen and most the hoses as far as I can tell are fine.
Any Ideas?

Thanks

Answer
Bill,
Could be plugs or a bad coil. Loose or broken intake hose, vacuum leak, even a burnt valve. There should be a code that has been stored. Read the codes and see what they are, it may leed to the fault(s). You need the help of someone with a scan tool to read the faults. Best to have the codes read at a Volvo shop to get the factory codes not the generic ones.
